Virtual Showroom: Jacob Gmbh

bulb

In a Nutshell

Jacob relied on traditional text-heavy collaterals that limited their product demonstrations. The gap still existed during in-person meetings at factory visits. Recognizing this, Jacob joined forces with Maionic to build an interactive experience that displayed 3D models of their product—infused with its use cases across industries. This virtual platform helped Jacob reconnect and engage with their global customer base, later as a tool for attracting new leads to check out Jacob.

Jacob wanted to reach their global audience in a more creative and digitally advanced manner

Jacob, a leader in cable management solutions, wanted to showcase their high-grade cable glands and measuring tech to their customers. They knew these products offered exceptional quality and innovation, but traditional marketing methods didn't do justice. In turn, this made it difficult for them to connect with their global customer base. Therefore, the marketing team at Jacob’s wanted to use a virtual, centralized platform that would provide valuable product insights and increase customer engagement. They wanted to promote their high-grade products in a sustainable and accessible way, that helped connect with a global audience.

Jacob and Maionic collaborated to bring immersive tech and industry expertise together for their customers

The marketing folks at Jacob partnered with Maionic to create an immersive virtual environment with a background of the German countryside to mimic the feel of visiting Jacob’s factory in person.

Virtual Avatars

Visitors were greeted by a virtual avatar of the CEO, Bernd Bohl, welcoming visitors and briefing them about the tour.  Visitors were accompanied by a mascot called Wadi which was conceptualized after cable glands produced by Jacob.

3D Product Visualization

Every product booth showcased cable glands and their applications in a 3D interactive format with features like one-click rotation, multimedia, and live chats for a deep dive into the product. Avatars of real team members were situated in the booth to guide visitors through the demo, enhancing the personal touch of the virtual experience.

Show Use Cases

There was an interactive island built in the middle of the showroom dedicated to industry-specific use cases. It included different industrial applications like high-speed railways, solar, wind-energy offshore, and electronic peripherals, to show the practical use and necessity of the products.

The showroom also had an extended space that traced the company’s history for over a century since its formation and became a digital celebratory marker for Jacob’s centennial anniversary.

The showroom's life-like quality and interactive features, including live chats with experts, greatly enriched the customer experience.

Additionally, part of the showroom like the industrial island station was embedded within Jacob’s industrial website, extending its interactive benefits to online visitors and seamlessly integrating with a broader digital strategy.
